How SerpGem handles your data. Written in plain English, compliant with GDPR (EU), DPDP (India), and CCPA (California).

For the purposes of this policy, RAMSIO DIGITAL is the data controller (GDPR) and data fiduciary (India DPDP Act 2023).

2. Our Core Principle

All tools on SerpGem run either entirely in your browser or in short-lived server memory. Text, URLs, and keywords you enter into our tools are never stored, logged, or shared. They exist only long enough to produce the result you asked for, then they're gone.

3. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. Nothing more.

3.1 Data you never give us

  • We do not require an account.
  • We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or address.
  • We do not collect the text you paste into tools.

3.2 Data collected automatically (only after consent)

  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4):anonymized page views, referrer, device type, approximate location (country/region, not street address), session duration. Used to understand which tools people use and fix what's broken.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense): cookies and identifiers used by Google to serve relevant ads. AdSense revenue keeps the tools free. You can opt out at any time.

3.3 Data processed without consent (strictly necessary)

  • Cloudflare infrastructure: Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the site, prevent DDoS attacks, and apply rate limits. IPs are not stored by us and are discarded by Cloudflare under their retention policy.
  • Consent preference: one first-party cookie (sg_consent) stores your cookie-banner choice so we don't ask again. This cookie contains no personal data.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To serve the tools you request.
  • To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product (analytics).
  • To display ads that fund the free service (advertising).
  • To protect against abuse, spam, and DDoS attacks.

We never sell your personal information to third parties. We never profile you for purposes unrelated to running this site.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): analytics and advertising cookies.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): security, abuse prevention, basic infrastructure logs.
  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): delivering the tool result you explicitly requested.

6. Your Rights

6.1 EU / UK residents (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time (via the cookie settings link in the footer)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

6.2 India residents (DPDP Act 2023)

You have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data
  • Access, correct, and erase your data
  • Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you are unable to
  • Grievance redressal (see §11 below)
  • File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

6.3 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected and how it is used
  • Delete your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (use the cookie settings link in the footer)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising these rights

We do not sell your personal informationin the traditional sense. However, under the broad CCPA definition, serving personalized ads via Google AdSense may be considered "sharing." Decline advertising cookies in the consent banner to opt out.

6.4 How to exercise your rights

Email privacy@serpgem.com from the email address associated with your request. We respond within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

  • Tool inputs: not retained (processed in memory only).
  • Google Analytics: 14 months (Google default).
  • Consent cookie: 12 months, then we ask you again.
  • Advertising cookies: varies by provider. See Google's advertising policies.

9. Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS with TLS 1.3. Traffic is protected by Cloudflare's DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall. Since we do not store personal data, there is no user database to breach. Third-party providers (Google, Cloudflare) maintain their own security certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2).

10. Third-Party Services

Some of these providers may transfer data outside your country (for example, to the United States). These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

12. Children's Privacy

SerpGem is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction — 16 in some EU countries, 18 under India DPDP). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with the service, contact privacy@serpgem.com.

13. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
