Frequently Asked

SEO Analysis questions, answered factually.

How do I cluster keywords by search intent?
Group queries by what the searcher wants: informational ("how to X"), commercial ("best X"), transactional ("buy X"), or navigational ("X brand login"). Google's Helpful Content and 2022 spam update both reward pages that match the dominant intent for a query. Our Keyword Intent Classifier scores each query against these four buckets using 80+ modifier patterns; our Keyword Cluster tool groups by shared root and intent together.
What are the Google SERP title truncation limits?
Google truncates titles at ~580 pixels on desktop (roughly 50-60 characters for mixed-case Arial/Roboto). Mobile truncates around 78 characters but visual width varies by device. A 2021 Zyppy study analyzed 80,959 titles and found Google rewrites 61% of titles it deems poor — usually for being too long, too keyword-stuffed, or missing the brand. Our Title Pixel Checker uses Google's exact character-width table to predict truncation.
What does a headline score actually measure?
Our Headline Analyzer uses the same public heuristics CoSchedule and ShareThrough built their paid tools on: word balance (common, uncommon, emotional, power), length (55-60 chars ideal for SEO + CTR), sentiment, use of numbers/brackets, and keyword prominence (early in title). Scores over 70/100 correlate with higher CTR in BuzzSumo's 2020 study of 100M articles. The score is a rubric, not a ranking factor — but poor-scoring headlines lose the click.
What is a content gap analysis and when should I run one?
Compare your page's vocabulary against a top-ranking competitor to find terms, entities, and subtopics you're missing. Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines explicitly reward comprehensive coverage ("what the searcher actually wants to know"), not just keyword presence. Run a gap analysis when you're stuck below position 5 for a target keyword — almost always the issue is scope, not backlinks.
